CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Dear Educator: Penn State Lehigh Valley is pleased to announce a Call for Proposals for the sixth Annual Diverse Literacies Conference, scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the Bear Creek Resort in Macungie, Pennsylvania. The conference theme, Language as a Resource for Revaluing Diverse Learners, is designed to provide a variety of opportunities for participants to share and reflect on their own practice and apply ideas in their own contexts. This year we are fortunate to have as our keynote speaker Yetta Goodman, a renowned literacy education scholar who has written over 150 publications on reading education and educational policy. We request your consideration for presenting at this conference. We are particularly interested in having presenters from a variety of backgrounds (elementary teachers; reading, ESL, and other specialists; secondary content area teachers; higher education faculty; adult education instructors; pre-service teachers; and other professionals) share their experience, research, and expertise. Conference Information Date: Saturday, September 24, 2016 Time: 7:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. (Registration and Breakfast: 7:30 a.m.; Program begins: 8:00 a.m.) Location: Bear Creek Mountain Resort & Conference Center, Macungie, Pa.
